The latest Research Note takes us into the area of section D in the Golly Guide - Tableware. More specifically the different types of Mugs used in the production of the Silver Crane designs D1. It appears that Silver Crane purchased mugs fired but unglazed from a number of suppliers before applying their own transfers and glazing - resulting in a number of similar designs which are subtly different.
