Miller was known for his attention to detail and finished his badges with a light varnish to prevent them from oxidation and keep them clean and bright. This Prewar Surrey design is part of a quartet which are known to exist in larger quantities than the remaining counties. In additiona to the 17 county cricketers, a further three cricketer badges in this series were manufactured, taking the total to 20. Full details are given in the Golly Guide.

1970's Hockey Player FATTORINI1970's Hockey Player FATTORINI

Golly Checklist No. 61

CLICK PHOTOS TO ENLARGE

DESCRIPTION:
A gorgeous 1970's design by Fattorini. This is the Hockey Player. Fattorini only made this range of badges for a short period [1977-1980] so they are much more scarce than the equivalent design by REV Gomm.

BACKSTAMP: Fattorini in box 4b. Very clean and clear backstamp.

CONDITION: Presented in remarkable condition. Free from any signs of stress marks, chips, cracks or surface scratches to the enamel. Finding this badge in any condition is hard enough, but in condition like this is extremely difficult as the 1970's was a period where quality control was not particularly high. The metal is beautifully clear both front and back. Complete with original straight pin and working clasp.

See photos for full details. Multiple high quality images shows the badge from different angles.
