DESCRIPTION: Prewar SURREY Cricketer offered in immaculate condition. One of the set of 17 county cricketers representing all first class county cricket teams. These beautiful designs were manufactured by the high quality badge maker H.W.Miller of Birmingham and issued by Robertsons in 1938. Certified as genuine by the Miller backstamp to reverse.

BACKSTAMP: Miller Type III i  (REGD APPD). Lightly stamped. The first H is not fully defined. All other characters visible and legible. 

CONDITION: Presented for sale in wonderful condition. No stress marks or chips. The metal is clean and bright on both sides with a very light patina. Complete with original straight pin.

Miller was known for his attention to detail and finished his badges with a light varnish to prevent them from oxidation and keep them clean and bright. This Prewar Surrey design is part of a quartet which are known to exist in larger quantities than the remaining counties.
