DESCRIPTION: A White Waistcoat Guitarist badge made by 'Fattorini'. This version is one of the genuine Fattorini BLANKS which was re-enamelled in 2005 to feature a brown guitar. Although it is a genuine Fattorini design it has been re-enamelled so is considered a 'brown guitar fake' by the Golly Checklist. It is included in the auction as those collectors who take an interest in the development of golly designs over time may wish to include it in their collections. The guide price is particularly wide as it is not clear what level of demand there is for such items.
BACKSTAMP: 'Fattorini' [2]. Clearly stamped.
CONDITION: Presented in very good condition. No stress marks or chips. Metal is very clean and bright. Please note the metal has a pinkish hue due to the acid cleaning which was deployed to the metal prior to re-enamelling. This dissolved the zinc to leave the copper of the brass badge. Complete with original straight pin and clasp.
