DESCRIPTION: The sixteenth SLC was held on 27^th May 2018 at The Inn for All Seasons, Burford, Oxfordshire. This Tin Button badge was produced as a momento to mark the event. Only 40 produced. 

The design of the Tudor Lord badge was inspired by the venue of the 16^th SLC: “The Inn for All Seasons” at Burford in Oxfordshire. The pub had an association with a horse trainer who supplied to the film industry whose favourite film was “A man for All Seasons”... so the pub had it’s name changed. The film depicted the final years of Sir Thomas More – the 16^th Century Lord Chancellor of England who has a blue cheese made in Burford on his salver – Oxford Blue – hence the Tudor golly as waiter holds some blue cheese on his tray.

The Sunday Lunch Club is the name given to the official meeting of members of The Robertson’s Badge Club. This is an online club which started out as a Yahoo! Group: ‘GollyBC’ and has since moved over to Facebook. The first SLC took place at the end of 2001 to encourage Golly badge collectors to meet and swap badges or just chat in a relaxed setting. Official badges were produced for members each year and regular meetings were held up and down the country.

The badges produced by the group were not officially endorsed by Robertsons as the Golly had ceased to be used by Robertsons at this time. However, the full list of designs issued by the group are included in section W of the Golly Guide. The 'Robertons Badge Club' facebook group remains the only Robertsons Badge collecting group devoted exclusively to Robertsons Golly collecting and endorsed by the Golly Checklist team.
