DESCRIPTION: Set of three badges showing Golly on different coloured spacehoppers - orange, pink and blue. These badges were produced for the seventh SLC which in took place at Leeds Castle in Kent on 20-Jul-2003. Produced in a limited edition of only 46. This set comes from the collection of Chas Spencer, a well loved and respected figure at the SLC's.
These badges are listed as SLC7a-1, a-2 and a-3 in the Golly Guide.
The Sunday Lunch Club is the name given to the official meeting of members of The Robertson’s Badge Club. This is an online club which started out as a Yahoo! Group: ‘GollyBC’ and has since moved over to Facebook. The first SLC took place at the end of 2001 to encourage Golly badge collectors to meet and swap badges or just chat in a relaxed setting. Official badges were produced for members each year and regular meetings were held up and down the country.
The badges produced by the group were not officially endorsed by Robertsons as the Golly had ceased to be used by Robertsons at this time. However, the full list of designs issued by the group are included in
section W of the Golly Guide. The 'Robertons Badge Club' facebook group remains the only Robertsons Badge collecting group devoted exclusively to Robertsons Golly collecting and endorsed by the Golly Checklist team.
