DESCRIPTION: The tenth SLC was held on 18th July 2004 at Kenilworth Castle. This Tin Button badge shows a Lord in full regalia holding potatoes on a tray. The 10th SLC saw a unique opportunity to see the historic Golly III balloon inflated. This took place in the field adjacent to Kenilworth Castle. Photos from the event are shown with the balloon badges. Incidentally, Kenilworth Castle green was also the first location in England in which potatoes were grown (ornamentally). Hence the reason for the potatoes on the tray. Limited to 70.

From the collection of Chas Spencer - a keen attendee at all SLC's!

CONDITION: Presented in immaculate condition.

See photos for full details.

The Sunday Lunch Club is the name given to the official meeting of members of The Robertson’s Badge Club. This is an online club which started out as a Yahoo! Group: ‘GollyBC’ and has since moved over to Facebook. The first SLC took place at the end of 2001 to encourage Golly badge collectors to meet and swap badges or just chat in a relaxed setting. Official badges were produced for members each year and regular meetings were held up and down the country.

The badges produced by the group were not officially endorsed by Robertsons as the Golly had ceased to be used by Robertsons at this time. However, the full list of designs issued by the group are included in
section W of the Golly Guide. The 'Robertons Badge Club' facebook group remains the only Robertsons Badge collecting group devoted exclusively to Robertsons Golly collecting and endorsed by the Golly Checklist team.
