DESCRIPTION: This attractive prewar tennis player design was manufactured by the high quality badge maker H.W.Miller of Birmingham and issued by Robertsons in 1937. This particular example shows the earlier Miller Type 1Bi backstamp ('REGd APPd') which was used by Miller on the initial batch (on later issues this was changed to 'REGd' once the registration application was successful).

CONDITION: Presented for sale in good collectable condition. All enamel is present and correct. No chips. Light stress marks can be seen to the top of legs and light surface scratches on head. The metal to front is clean and bright whilst the reverse shows a light patina with evidence of surface corrosion to the right hand side. In original condition, no attempt to clean the surface corrosion has been made. Complete with original straight pin.

See photos for full details. Multiple high quality images shows the badge from different angles.
