DESCRIPTION: Prewar Blackcurrant fruit design with small Golly head as one of the berries. Manufactured by Miller of Birmingham. Issued by Robertsons from 1932. Certified as genuine by the Miller backstamp to reverse. One of the most desirable of the prewar fruits.
BACKSTAMP: Miller Type IA iii (REGd 768931). Well defined stamp with all characters visible. Note the 'REGD 768931' are on two lines. Note for the specialist collector: Two versions of this backstamp are known, this one being the 'large' version.
CONDITION: Presented in excellent condition. No scratches or stress marks. The berries and leaves are lovely deep colours. Metal shows a patina consistent with age, light evidence of tarnish but easy to remove if desired. Complete with original straight pin and clasp.
