DESCRIPTION: The Robertson’s Badge Club started life around the end of 2001 as a Yahoo!Groups site called ‘GollyBC’. The Yahoo!Group ran very successfully for many years. Attended by many leading collectors of the time, it was well organised from the start. Official badges were produced for members each year and regular meetings were held up and down the country.
The badges produced by the group were not officially endorsed by Robertsons as the Golly had ceased to be used by Robertsons at this time. However, the full list of designs issued by the group are included in
section W of the Golly Guide. The Yahoo!group was the precursor to the 'Robertons Badge Club' facebook group and remains the only Robertsons Badge collecting group endorsed by the Golly Checklist. There were 20 badges produced for members of the Yahoo!group. This one is the
seventh one issued. Listed as
GBC7 in the Golly Guide. Members were eligible for it if they won one of the many competitions which were held during this year.
The badge is number 038 (stamped on reverse) of 50 which were issued in 2003.
CONDITION: Presented in close to perfect condition front and back with original butterfly clasp pin and original box.
